    Deleted without notice for doing the same thing, for the same reason, that the management does.

    This seems even worse than hypocrisy:

    “The reason I waited so long, even though I was repulsed by his actions, was because I was warned by one of the LT if I ever made a comment in public about anyone in the upper ranks, I would be removed from participating as a volunteer.”

  • Do we have a list of CS leadership “transgressions” anywhere? I feel like it would be a powerful answer to the “so what?” question that I hear so often from members when discussing CS politics.

    which allows for the possibility that a message was sent but not received. His request for a copy of the missing email has not been responded to as of yet.

    I mainly meant to emphasize the hypocrisy and pettiness pointed out by Kasper and others. The apparent lack of notice was a minor detail for me, and the hypocrisy itself minor in comparison to the ugly treatment of long-time volunteer Oh Donna, someone I once worked closely with. This should be fair warning to prospective volunteers, if they have not seen earlier warnings.

    At the event where I signed up for Couchsurfing, the 2005/06 Winter Camp in Riga, drunken behavior by major CS and HC personalities who were openly looking to get laid was part of the scene and I didn’t hear anyone complaining (they just slapped unwelcome hands away). What changed? Why is Gadget now considered so evil for behavior that was once fairly standard?

    Firstly, the fact that you didnt hear anyone complain does not mean that they did not do so – it was just not to you.
    Secondly, even if no-one complained at the time, it doesnt mean it wasnt done after the event, or privately, or some time later. It also doesnt mean that this behaviour was considered trivial, or not important, by those who were on the receiving end.
    This is often a common feature of sexual assault cases.

    I really dont think you know enough to state with confidence that there has been a major change in attitudes.

  • This is completely preposterous, the idea that somehow what is happening at Guantanamo and other facilities, if we make nice with these fellows, they will suddenly start observing the rules of the Geneva Convention. ,

  • More about the harassment:
    “At first I thought it was a test, or a joke, that he would apologize and say it’s a joke, or something, but there was no move. I had just presented for about 80 people about boundaries, slippery slopes, knowing yourself and leaving negative references, and then I figured that maybe he was trying to get rid of me because of my leadership. Or just to express his power. It made me feel like an attempt to prove that all from him could be excused. And it seems he was right since I was not the only one, and he’s still where he is. And we walked out of our positions.

    Mattthew commited to perform a peer review and ask the AMT individually about G, it’s team working abilities, etc. two months after, it had not been started, but G was an LT member since a month, and TTT said he would eventually perform a 360 evaluation. With more and more people leaving… I think it will eventually become a positive one :P

  • well it´s a bit tricky for the leader of the MDST (rachel) who has an internal affair with Gadget, to set the correct action, well she had an affair so far with anyone within the LT anyway…
